Hello Students, Parents, and Leaders,
We wanted to give you an update on our response to any COVID-19 concerns regarding our 2021 program. Our goal at Street Invaders is to walk in wisdom with the Lord and to keep everyone safe and informed. During this time, we are moving forward with our 2021 program as it is regularly scheduled for our regional and national programs. However, our international teams have been cancelled for this year. We are paying close attention to the recommendations of the Canadian government and health organizations as we prepare to make decisions. Rest assured that we take the responsibility of caring for our students and staff seriously, and thus, we plan to consider every option.
However, as we move forward, we have put a number of safety measures in place:
For example, should the restrictions on public gatherings extend into the summer months, we will honour the decisions of our governing bodies and we will not meet in our typical summer program. However, we will not be able to make decisions about cancelling or adapting our regional summer program until much closer to the date. Once again, all money will be refunded to students who sign up for our regional program if it is cancelled due to COVID-19.
We have established a multi-level safety plans and different potential programs for the various provinces so that we can provide a program no matter what the situation is next summer. We are looking at smaller in-person programs, multiple small programs, online options, and options within local churches. Therefore, please rest assured that we are doing our best to be prepared for any eventuality that may arise in the face of the pandemic.
We are so grateful for your patience in these uncertain times. Please feel free to reach out to the office with any questions, concerns, or prayer requests at this time. We ask that you join with us as we pray for wisdom and protection for everyone in this season. You can reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org and (403) 717-0707.
Please follow our social media for more information, our upcoming promotional video, and information on our travel cards and contests coming up in the new year! We hope to see you this summer.
Street Invaders is a summer youth missions program for students ages 13-18 that is designed to help you put your faith into action. You will learn how to walk in relationship with Jesus while being empowered to make a difference wherever you go.
Our philosophy is simple: “Discipleship through evangelism.” We accomplish this by giving youth the opportunity to meet with God, to see Holy Spirit move, and be transformed as they share the Gospel. We have seen thousands of young people all over the world become passionate disciples of Jesus.
If there’s anything true about students today, it’s this: they want to know the truth and they want to make a difference. That’s what Street Invaders is all about. We believe that Jesus created you to bring change to the world. Come to Street Invaders, experience Christ, and discover who you are meant to be.
Street Invaders originated in England and was pioneered by British Youth For Christ. It has been in existence in Canada since 1989.
Street Invaders Canada was pioneered by and continues to be directed through United Youth Outreach. It is an interdenominational program which works with Christian churches across Canada, the United States and in different parts of the world.
Our goal with the program is to see young people come to a greater commitment as disciples of Christ, where they are willing to give their entire lives to Him. Street Invaders uses evangelism and outreach as a means of developing these students into disciples and as a result, we have seen thousands of people won to Christ, discipled and sent out to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The first Street Invaders program was launched in July 1989 with a group of students from Kedleston camp in Saskatchewan. The program began with 21 students—enough for 3 mission teams.
The program eventually grew to 2 locations in SK and BC, with various outreach locations in each province. Since that time, programs have been held in Kamloops, Kelowna, Prince George, and Surrey, BC, as well as Calgary, Winnipeg, and various locations in Ontario, New Brunswick, and Quebec.
International teams have traveled to a variety of locations including Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, various areas of Africa including South Africa, Japan, China, Philippines, Malaysia, Turkey, El Salvador, Mexico, Guatemala, Australia, Estonia, Ecuador, United States, Malta, Thailand, etc.
For over 30 years, Street Invaders has gathered, trained and released students to share the love of Jesus Christ around the world. The summer youth missions program has a rich history of seeing lives changed forever through sharing the Gospel. Our DNA includes powerful worship, waiting on God, empowering students, training in sharing our faith, and then releasing teens into opportunities to see the Holy Spirit at work.
The philosophy of Street Invaders is ‘discipleship through evangelism’. Whether a student comes alone or with their youth group, attending Street Invaders is one of the best decisions they will make for developing their character and their relationship with Jesus.
With 30+ years behind us, our goal as we reach into the future is to establish a program in each Canadian province and territory, as well as various locations around the world. We encourage you to consider partnering with Street Invaders to see this worthy goal accomplished.
