Mission Documents

General Documents

These documents will help you in planning and executing a successful mission. Any invoices, emails, information, or forms that you have or receive for pertaining to your mission can be emailed to office@streetinvaders.ca.

We will go over this document during Mission Training; however, it is important for you to look over this information before and during your mission to ensure you have everything in place and you are prepared to lead your team.

PLEASE READ THIS PAGE A COUPLE DAYS BEFORE THE END OF YOUR MISSION. This document has important information on it regarding what you need to prepare for, what administratively must be done, and any other details about the praise party.

This guideline is given to leaders for proper use of how to record interviews and what you are able to record.

This document will help guide you as to the role your Student Leader should play on your team. If you need further clarification please reach out to your Mission Director.

You can use this document to ensure you have everything in place for your mission and you are aware of all the administrative details of your mission.

Debrief Documents

These documents will help you with debriefing your team. You will find two documents in this section: The Debriefing Process. Debriefing is an essential part of your daily team time and is necessary at the end of your trip. Debriefing will help your students process what the Lord is doing in their lives and hearts. Debriefing will also help you identify how students are doing and feeling.

This document will teach you about the different times and ways you should debrief your team. There are individual, and group debriefs that will happen during your time with your team. You will also need to debrief as a leadership team multiple times throughout the mission. Debriefing is an essential piece in setting up our students up for success when they get home, so make sure to read this document carefully.

At the end of the mission, you will need to take time to meet with each student one-on- one for an individual debriefing. This document is found in your mission binder.

At the end of the mission, you will need to take time to reflect upon your experience with Street Invaders and fill out the Leadership debrief form.

Reporting and Quick Files

These documents are crucial and must be kept confidential at all times. You will find five different types of documents in your mission folder: Quick Files, Reporting Instructions, Confidential Incident Report Forms, Accident Report Forms, and Social Contracts. These documents MUST be kept CONFIDENTIAL , MUST BE FILLED OUT ON PAPER, and MUST be HANDED IN to the administrative team, Mission Training Director, or Mission Director at the end of the program (there will be one designated person so make sure to find out who that is). Please ensure that the mission folder is not accessible to students.

This sheet will give you information on what reporting forms to use in different situations, the authorities (Street Invaders and legal) that you must inform of reportable issues, and provide you with a flow chart on how to deal with disclosures and incidents.

There are four quick files available to you titled: suicide, self-harm, eating disorders, and depression. The quick files are one-page documents that will give you a quick guide to recognizing, understanding, and dealing with any of the aforementioned issues (in the titles of the documents). If a student discloses struggling with or begins to show signs any of the above, these files can help you identify and deal with it in a healthy way for the student and yourself.

You must fill out this sheet in your folder for any disclosures of abuse, any discipline issues that occur, serious issues, or if sensitive information needs to be shared. Please remember: WHEN IN DOUBT, FILL IT OUT. It is better to fill out an Incident Report that is useless then to miss filling one out and be held legally responsible. Please read the Reporting Instructions page for all the information on Incident Reports. All Incident Reports must be given in at the end of the mission.

Street Invaders has a zero-tolerance policy for self-harm. If a student self-harms on the program, they are immediately sent home. We believe in our leaders, but you are not a counsellor and should not have to counsel self-harm issues. However, we allow students with a history of self-harm on the program if they fill out a Social Contract. A Social Contract must be filled out for students who disclose struggling with self-harm in their application, at Mission Training or during mission. If a Social Contract is filled out during Mission Training, the Incident Report Coordinator will give you a copy of the contract to keep in the binder. If a student discloses self-harm during mission, you must call the mission director and fill out one of the blank social contracts in your mission folder with your student. Social contracts must be handed in with the reports at the praise party.

Accident Reports must be filled out in the event of an injury, accident, or property damage. Please see the Reporting Instruction page for full information on Accident Report Forms and how to use them. All Accident Reports must be given in at the end of the mission.

Team Times

These documents will help you as you disciple and connect with your team. You will find five different team time activities in this section. Please use these activities during five of your team times at Mission Training. These activities will help prepare your students for the mission. If you do not finish these activities during Mission Training, you can do them on your mission.

This form should be filled out with your team at the first team time. You should come up with a team mission and vision statement for your mission. This will make your students feel like they are an important part of the team and that their input is valuable. The mission statement is also a helpful tool if a student is acting out or complaining on mission – you can point them back to the mission statement that they agreed to as a reason to stop their poor behaviour. You can also look back the mission statement at the end of your mission to show your students how you were successful as a team!

This document explains the game “Never Have I Ever,” which is a great activity for your first team time. The game is an awesome way to break the ice and get to know your team in a fun way!

This document will walk you through an activity that will help your students become comfortable praying out loud and praying for others. This may seem simple, but some of your students may have never prayed from someone else before. Please review the activity and plan it with your leader prior to the team time that you will walk through it.

This document will walk you through how to read the Bible in an effective and meaningful way. Many students find the scripture boring or too hard to read because they have not learned how to apply it to their lives. This activity will aid them in finding meaning in the scriptures. Please review the activity and plan it with your leader prior to the team time that you will walk through it.

This document will walk you through an activity that will teach the students how to tell a good story. This skill will be essential during your mission. Please review the activity and plan it with your leader prior to the team time that you will walk through it.

This document will teach the students how to share their testimony. Every student on your team should have the chance to share his or her testimony while on mission even if it is just with the team. Please review the activity and plan it with your leader prior to the team time that you will walk through it.

Evaluations and Assessments

This forms will be necessary at the end of Mission Training and at the end of your mission. You’ll find four forms in this section: Mission Training Evaluations, Mission Evaluations, Student Assessment Forms, and Student Follow-Up Forms. You will need to ensure that all of these have been filled out by the time you get to the praise party. You will have enough of each form to fill out or give one to each student.

Students are to fill out Mission Training Evaluations prior to departing for mission. Mission Evaluation forms are to be filled out by students on the last day of mission, prior to the Praise Party. Please assure students that their evaluations are confidential and that the team leaders will not see their comments, so they can be 100% honest about their mission experience.

At the end of the mission, you will need to take time to meet with each student one-on- one for an individual debriefing (see debriefing tab). Before you meet with the student, please fill out the Student Assessment Form as a leadership team. The student assessment is not to be shown to the student.
